At the start of the new year, on 20 January 2026, GIRT Oberfranken held another event on the premises of the Bayreuth Chamber of Industry and Commerce, organised by Torsten Kühlmann and Stefan Wengler. The topic was:
“India Connect 2026: market assessments & BIS certification — what exporting companies need to know now”
Jyotsna Chaturvedi and Markus Hoffmann-von Wolffersdorff of DE.INDI.GO gave a joint talk on the new certification requirements of the Bureau of Indian Standards for foreign companies. Stefan Halusa, former Director General of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, gave an interesting talk on current developments in the Indian market.
The talks were followed by a Q&A session with the speakers and further exchange among the participants over Indian curry.
