On September 8, 2026, following a lengthy break, a German-Indian Round Table meeting took place once again at the Club International in Leipzig, organized and moderated by Markus Hoffmann-von Wolffersdorff.
The event was well attended, with 30 participants, mainly representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises from Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The designated head of the Economic Section of the Indian Embassy, Mr. Sohag Sen, gave a very interesting presentation on the India-EU Free Trade Agreement and its significance for German companies. Jan Filip and Stefanie Heinitz from the Saxony Economic Development Agency explained why it makes sense for Saxon companies to focus more on the Indian market in the future and discussed initiatives to recruit skilled workers from India.
During a moderated Q&A session, participants were able to ask questions or share their own experiences doing business in India. This led to a productive and informal exchange. Over snacks and drinks in the exclusive setting of Club International, participants continued networking well into the late evening.
