From 9 to 14 November 2025, a Saxon business delegation led by Dirk Panther, Minister for Economic Affairs and Labour, visited the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The trip follows similar visits in 2023 and 2024 and makes clear that the state of Tamil Nadu is of strategic importance to Saxony in several respects and that existing political and economic contacts are being expanded.
The delegation visited Indian companies in the cities of Coimbatore and Chennai as well as in the Sri City special economic zone. Dirk Panther met the Minister for Industry of Tamil Nadu, T.R. Baalu Rajaa, to discuss future cooperation in the semiconductor industry and in skilled worker recruitment.
